Sackville Election December 2023

The date of the Sackville parish ward by-election will be Thursday 21 December.  The polling station will be St Barnabas Church in Sea Road.

Below is an attachment showing the key dates and the notice for election will be published on Thursday 16 November.

The nomination period for candidates will run from Friday 17 November to Friday 24 November. 

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Town Hall between 10am and 4pm on working days only during this period. 

Candidates are strongly encouraged to make an appointment, to ensure that a Deputy Returning Officer is available to receive and check the nomination papers.  Any nomination papers left without being checked may not be valid.

The town council now has 35 days (excluding dies non) beginning with the day on which the election would have been held (Thursday 4 May 2023), to co-opt persons to fill the remaining vacancies.
