Policies and Procedures

The Town Council acts within certain legislation and within its approved policies, we are in the process of setting up the required policies.  Each policy that is created by a committee has to be approved by the Full Council.

Standing Orders are the framework that the council has to work to, they determine how meetings are run and how the council operates.    The Financial Regulations dictate how the council operates its finances.  The role of the Responsible Financial Officer is to present the accounts, the corporate body manages the budget and makes the spending policy decisions.

The Code of Conduct contains the prescribed behaviour for councillors and is monitored by the District Council Monitoring Officer.
