We are a group of about 80 artists, designers and craftspeople, both professional and amateur.

We hold 3 events each year in Bexhill.

We have a rolling programme of workshops throughout the year, including portrait and life drawing, outdoor landscape drawing and soft crafts.

On the second Sunday of the month some of our artists hold an Open Studio in the education room at Bexhill Museum.

We have an extensive range of activities every day of the week for those physically active such as table tennis skittles and dancing and for those who enjoy leisure interests like arts/crafts and singing. Once a month we have a Sunday lunch and from time to time we have a quiz or other social event. We organise day trips on a regular basis and the occasional mini break.  We’re open every morning Monday to Saturday and you can drop in for tea or coffee for just £1. Whilst you’re sipping your delicious hot drink, you can also browse our well-stocked library.

Although we are a members’ motor club we are very active in the Bexhill community, raising money for local charities from our annual Show at the Polegrove Recreation Ground, and doing free static car displays on East Parade five times a year during the summer months, as well as participating in many community events.

We are a Parkinson’s U.K support group which meets regularly at the Cooden Golf Club on the last Saturday of every month; our venue is kindly offered free of charge by the golf club committee. Our aim is to support people living with Parkinson’s, their families, friends, and carers by providing direction to Parkinson’s U.K information.

This year, from April, Bexhill Library has been hosting our monthly Parkinson’s drop-in sessions, which are held on the first Monday of every month (rolling forward to the next if it falls on a bank holiday Monday).

The purpose of these drop-in sessions is to support the people living with Parkinson’s, their families, friends, and carers who are not affiliated to any support groups, who live in the Bexhill and surrounding areas. Many people may not have received information at point of diagnosis, so are therefore unaware of the Parkinson’s support available to them via booklets and leaflets, as well as approved digital information on managing symptoms, understanding the vital importance of time-critical medication, as well as how exercise has the potential to greatly improve their lives.

As well as Parkinson’s U.K information we have lists of local activities such as neuro physical classes, singing groups as well as exercise classes and guidance to useful websites, podcasts and research, or most importantly just come and have a conversation.

The main aim of the club is that like-minded, retired or semi-retired men meet up on a regular basis for a range of activities, which are not compulsory, but foster the benefits of regular fellowship and enjoyment of each other’s company. The club does not engage in political debate, religious fervour or has any fund-raising requirements, purely social!

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Highwoods Golf Club, Ellerslie Lane, except when a ‘seasonal’ lunch takes place i.e. Spring, Summer & Christmas.

Tea & coffee is provided prior to a short business meeting commencing at 10.15, followed by a guest speaker until 12.00. The bar is open for ‘after meeting drinks’.

The club management committee meets on the 1st Monday of the month to receive various reports to ensure members are kept fully briefed, including a monthly newsletter.

We are an active club, with a wide variety of social activities i.e. lunches, holidays, bi-weekly local walks with coffee and pub lunch. Members’ wives, partners or widows are also included in our social events.
