Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council is delighted to confirm that the Grand Opening of Pebsham Inclusive Play Area, located on Seabourne Recreation Ground, Pebsham, will take place on Friday, 16th October at 10am.

Our contractors, eibe Play Ltd., have installed this brand-new Inclusive Play Area at the heart of the community in Pebsham. The project is a joint venture between Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council and Rother District Council, who have provided funds through the Community Infrastructure Levy Fund (CIL) scheme.

Work on the site began on Monday, 10th August and concluded this week (commencing Monday, 12th October). Alongside the standard features of a play area, there are more inclusive aspects, including an accessible trampoline, a wheelchair swing, and opportunities to learn the alphabet in sign language and braille. The area measures approximately 20m x 25m, holds around 45 people, and is intended for use by ages 2-12.

What will be happening on the day?

Deputy Mayor, Cllr Paul Peters, will be opening Pebsham Inclusive Play Area with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. There will also be photo opportunities with local dignitaries as they peruse the newly opened area for the first time. Contractors eibe Play Ltd. will decorate the area with banners and balloons, and there will be goody bags to give away to passers-by.
